Different Place... Different Trends

Moving from Arizona to San Francisco is a major culture shock!
Trends here are night and day from the hot state of AZ.
First- scarves seem to be an absolute must and everyone has great jackets! Peacoats, tweeds, I've even seen decorative jackets that I'm envious of.
Downtown women are still wearing heels despite the amount of walking around they do... that take time and practice.
Hairstyles seem to be long and flowing- all shades but leaning mostly towards the natural hues.
Nails are nice and short- no crazy multi-colored fakies THANK GOD but always manicured!!!
I saw a man in high heeled boots and sparkles on his jeans... that was a treat.

Needless to say I think my new research project will be something to enjoy!
Stay posted as I'm getting back into the swing of things!

THE HOTTEST FALL TRENDS

WE'RE TALKING HOTTEST FALL TRENDS ... COLORS- HAIR, MAKEUP AND NAILS!

RED LOCKS... There are so many shades of reds. There's one to suit all skin tones. You've got auburn like Julianne Moore, Violet/Red like My Personal Favorite Evan Rachel Wood, there's the vibrant red that Debra Messing wears, and the softer shade of Isla Fisher. You can't forget about the new saucy color that Christina Hendricks from Mad Men is wearing. HOT HOT HOT!
If you want spice in your life try a new hair color... The say "Change the hair, Change your life"
The key is to finding the right hue for you!

NATURAL SKIN TONE AND COLORS- 2010 fall makeup is full of neutrals and muted tones. More of an editorial look. Clean and polished vs. the Peachy warm glow of last year. Muted purple, lilacs, and smoky plums are all over the runway!

COLOR THOSE TALONS... Neutral for the nails is OUT. French is gone too! Opt for dark grey, pewter, plum, and heather shades. These help bring life to the party... everyone loves a pretty set of nails. Fake nails are a thing of the past... shorter, manicured nails are what's in today!

Send in some pics of what you're sporting this fall... BEAUTY IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT!!!

Stubborn Brown Spots...

So recently a good friend of mine asked me "How can I get rid of these brown spots"

This is the million dollar question that every woman is starting to ask (especially if you grew up in the blazing heat of AZ)

There are many things you can do but only a few that offer dramatic permanent results...

For those seeking these- the options are as follows:

#1 Foto Facials combined with microdermabrasion. Typically a series of 5-10 will do the job. The laser targets the pigment under the skin causing it to rise. The microderm buffs away the pigment that has been brought to the surface giving you an even skin tone.
Side note... it also helps to tighten the skin!

#2 CO2 laser... This is a one stop shop but weeks of down time. This is a very intense service where you will shed layers of skin- in doing this one of the major benefits is removal of brown spots or hyperpigmentation. Down side... your skin looks like hamburger meat for awhile

#3 Medical Peel... Also has downtime but a week at the most. These are typically in a series as well but is a chemical exfoliation versus a manual exfoliation. There are many different types of "Medical Peels" not to be confused with your standard chemical peels.

At home products...

I highly recommend the Vivite line by Allergan.
Step one- cleanse with their Daily glycolic wash
Step two- exfoliate with their exfoliating cleanser-
Step 3 is an incredible product called Vibrance specifically designed to inhibit brown spots and diminish the appearance.

Sorry ladies but for this issue there is no Cheap way to resolve the issues... you're gonna have to invest in your skin.

MORAL OF THE STORY-
PROTECT YOUR SKIN FROM THE SUN AND WEAR A SUNBLOCK EVERY DAY!!!

THE FIRST BEAUTY BLOG...

So ladies let's start simple...

What are the 3 basic rules when it comes to anti-aging and beautiful skin?

#1 WATER, WATER, WATER.
The first place you can tell a womans age is her skin- the more water intake you have, the more hydrated and moist the skin looks. Therefore helping to fight sagging, dehyrated, and lifeless skin

#2 SUNSCREEN
Stay out of the sun for the love of god. I see women every day coming in wanting to turn back the hands of time- had they worn their sunblock faithfully EVERY DAY- we would not have this problem

#3 MOISTURIZE
Along with your water intake you must hydrate the skin with a moisturizer to balance the PH. There are many great product lines out there... I can help you find the right one if you need help

I live by these rules and am proud to say I have beautiful skin... I work hard at it though. It's a daily routine that I follow to fight the demon I call the SUN

Most women will spend hundreds of $$$ on their hair and nails but fail to pay attention to the largest organ (visible to everyone I might add) on their body. THEIR SKIN! Baby your Body ladies... we only have one of them!
